Expanded Metal Mesh

Expanded metal mesh is manufactured by slitting solid metal sheets and stretching them into an integrated mesh panel, no welding joints exist on the whole sheet. Diamond opening is our mainstream pattern, supplied in two core styles: raised and flattened. Raised mesh retains the natural angled strands formed during expansion, delivering anti-slip performance for walkway use. Flattened mesh undergoes secondary rolling after expansion to get a smooth, thin flat surface, more suitable for decorative cladding and shielding panels. Available raw materials cover carbon steel, pre-galvanized steel, stainless steel and aluminum alloy. This mesh serves multiple industries: machinery safety guards, industrial walkways, equipment housing, building facade cladding, filter backing, room partitions, storage racks and custom metal fabrication parts. All core dimensions including base sheet thickness, SWD, LWD, strand width, finished sheet size and surface coating must be confirmed before placing orders.

Specifications

Material: Hot rolled & cold rolled carbon steel, electro-galvanized steel, hot dipped galvanized steel, 304 & 316 stainless steel; aluminum grades 1060, 3003, 5052, 6061-T6 available upon request.

Mesh Type: Standard raised expanded metal, flattened expanded metal, micro fine expanded metal, architectural decorative expanded mesh, heavy-duty expanded metal grating for flooring.

Opening Shape: Diamond mesh as standard stock item. Hexagonal, round and square patterns can be custom-produced for special architectural and filter projects.

Thickness Range: Regular production thickness from 0.3mm up to 12mm; thickness selection matched with opening dimension and load requirements.

SWD (Short Way of Diamond): Center-to-center distance between two adjacent bond points along the short diamond axis.

LWD (Long Way of Diamond): Center-to-center distance between two adjacent bond points along the long diamond axis.

SWO (Short Way of Opening): Clear opening width on the short side, strand width excluded from measurement.

LWO (Long Way of Opening): Clear opening width on the long side, strand width excluded from measurement.

Strand Width: Regular stock strand widths range from 0.5mm to 8.0mm.

Standard Sheet Width: 1000mm, 1220mm, 1250mm, 1500mm. Extra-wide sheets negotiable based on sheet thickness and production machine capacity.

Sheet Length: All lengths customizable against client drawings. Thin lightweight mesh can be supplied in continuous rolls, maximum roll length subject to shipping and packaging restrictions.

Surface Treatment: Raw black steel, hot dipped galvanized, electro galvanized, powder coating, liquid paint coating, anodized finish for aluminum, natural mill finish for stainless steel.

Processing Options: Straight cutting, flattening, bending, frame welding, edge trimming, coil rolling and fully custom fabricated panels.

Packing: Flat mesh sheets stacked and secured on export wooden pallets. Mesh rolls wrapped with waterproof plastic film. Framed finished panels fitted with plastic corner guards to avoid edge damage in transit.

Application

Machine Guards and Equipment Covers

Widely adopted as safety guard panels, equipment protective housings, ventilation shields and workshop isolation screens. Carbon steel and pre-galvanized steel are the most cost-effective choices for general machinery projects.

Walkways, Platforms, and Stair Areas

Heavy-duty raised expanded metal grating is used for service platforms, stair tread surfaces and factory maintenance walkways. Clients need to check supporting span and live load requirements before final specification selection.

Building Facade and Interior Screens

Aluminum expanded metal dominates architectural projects for exterior wall cladding, ceiling panels, space partitions and decorative screens. Powder coating or aluminum anodizing are the preferred surface treatments for construction mesh.

Filtration and Fabricated Parts

Micro fine expanded metal and stainless steel mesh act as support layers for filter elements, audio speaker grilles, metal baskets and storage shelves. We also produce all kinds of custom mesh components according to client technical drawings.
